About me

I have recently completed my degree in Computer Science for Games at Sheffield Hallam University, whilst also gaining experience as a professional software engineer at Codeweavers Ltd. My passion for programming and game development began during my school years and has since grown through university group projects, personal initiatives, and my industry experience.

During university, I focused on C++ and writing clean, efficient code, which helped me secure my placement. I have worked on various games, including those utilizing DirectX 11, Sony PS5 Devkits, and Unity/Unreal, where I’ve applied optimization techniques and integrated Lua scripting capabilities. My placement at Codeweavers has expanded my skills beyond game development, introducing me to the wider world of software and the daily practices of a professional software development team.

My placement year at Codeweavers has been an incredible journey of growth and learning, both technically and personally. This experience has provided a solid foundation in software development, particularly .NET C#, learning and researching design principles, patterns, and honing my technical expertise. Beyond that, I’ve developed my soft skills through presentations to senior developers, collaborative research projects, workshops, and team-building with my peers.

I’ve made the most of opportunities to attend events, network with colleagues across the organization, and participate in meetings with senior company members, which has been invaluable in building my confidence and adaptability. The experience has prepared me for diverse professional settings, equipping me with many skills that I will carry forward.
